Rally for Rivers with Sadhguru

I remember the Sanskrit mantra, गङ्गेच यमुने चैव गोदावरी सरस्वति । नर्मदा सिन्धु कावेरी जलेऽस्मिन् संनिधिं कुरु ॥ Gangge-Ca Yamune Ca-Iva Godaavarii Sarasvati | Narmadaa Sindhu Kaaverii Jale[a-A]smin Samnidhim Kuru || Meaning: The literal meaning of this mantra is: “In this water, I invoke the presence of divine waters from the rivers Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Saraswati, Narmada, Sindhu and Kaveri. These rivers are considered as goddesses and I pray to them for considering me for their blessings. But, in present scenario our rivers are drying, now also the time has not gone, if we contribute towards the rejuvenation of rivers WE CAN. I can put in this way “Rivers are for our life, but now we have to live the rivers” ISHA foundation launched campaign to save our rivers. What is this campaign? Create awareness among the citizen of India regarding present scenario of rivers. This has been named as “Rally for Rivers” an awareness campaign in consultation and collaboration with the Ministry of Environment. Timeline of Campaign Conceived by Sadhguru, the rally will be flagged off from Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore on September 3 and culminate in Delhi on October 2, covering 13 states and 21 major cities. Sadhguru will be driving this entire stretch of 6560 km across India. sadgururally for map How it will work? Rally -one km - The concept is to plant tree over one kilometer on both side of the river covering forest tree planted on government land and organic fruit tree planted on land of private farmer. All this will be demonstrating by Project Green Hand.
