To support Rally For Rivers myself with my family visited the two rivers in district Wardha  of Maharashtra , India. First at Wunna  or called as Vena in Hinganghat taluka and another is Dham river in Paunar on 10th September  2017. One can proudly say that India is a land of many rivers , but when we talk about the Rivers, first came in mind is River Ganga , a holy River Ganga , The mother Ganga . Alaknanda which starts from Gomukh caves in the Gangotri Glacier till Devprayag and turns Mandakini in Rudra Prayag.River Bhagirath enters at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar. The confluence (संगम , Sangam) of Bhagirathi River and Alaknanda River at DevPrayag , is the begining of river Ganga. sangam - ganga When in particular about Wardha district, there are eight rivers flowing and they are:
  1. Wardha River
  2. Vena / Wunna River
  3. Dham River
  4. Pothra River
  5. Bor River
  6. Asoda River
  7. Bakli River
  8. Kar River
WARDHA RIVER: This river enters the district Wardha at village Salora , which rises from Multai plateau of Satpuda , flowing through western part of District Nagpur and finally enters the district Chandrapur. Vena/ Wunna : The wunna is the main tributary (सहायक नदी) of wardha river. It rises near the Mahadagad hills in Nagpur. It passes besides the Hinganghat town.A land mark can be seen as Wardha – Chandrapur railway bridge passes over it.   Dham River: The river Dham rises from the Dhaga reserve forest and jouning the Bor River. The landmark on this river is Road over bridge from Wardha to Nagpur. Secondly , there is Vinoba Bhave ‘s ashram which is also known as Paunar Ashram. Also here with giving two videos on Rally For Rivers
